Variables
White-breasted Nuthatch
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with annual
precipitation of 432-1512 mm and relatively flat topography. In drier
regions (359-431 mm), it occurred mostly in hexagons with May
maximum temperature (hex. max.) of 18-19 C. The logistic regression
analysis showed positive or negative association with big sagebrush
shrubland, ponderosa pine forest, number of land cover types, extent of
the hexagon's most extensive land cover type, July minimum
temperature (hex. avg.), and-to a lesser degree-July precipitation
(hex. min.).
